04.02.2025 Ring-tailed Hen Harrier at a sunny Crabbe today MD
A fair to fine morning, becoming cloudy this afternoon in a chilly southeast wind.
La Sente this morning held 350 Brent Geese, a Pintail, 22 Grey Herons, 34 Little Egrets, 6 Cattle Egrets, 62 Redshanks, 5 Greenshanks and a Snipe. By Grouville Mill were another 12 Cattle Egrets.
Off of Corbiere this morning were 7 Brent Geese, a Common Scoter, a Great Northern Diver, a Black-throated Diver, 282 Gannets, 2 Fulmars, 22 Razorbills and another 5 auk sp, 50 Shags, 5 Cormorants, 4 Kittiwakes, a Common Gull, a Mediterranean Gull, c30 Purple Sandpipers, 33 Curlews and 2 Peregrines.
At Crabbe were male and ring-tailed Hen Harriers, a Peregrine, 6 Skylarks, 35 Meadow Pipits, 40 Linnets, 20 Chaffinches, 2 Ravens, 2 Jackdaws and a Stonechat with 50 Gannets feeding offshore there. In Mourier Valley were a Grey Wagtail, a few Rock Pipits and 13 Chough. Another Grey Wagtail was by the Priory Inn. At Le Chemin des Hougues were 21 Choughs overflying, 3 Goldcrests, a Short-toed Treecreeper and 7 Long-tailed Tits.
14 Tufted Duck were on Dannemarche reservoir
In St Ouen's Bay, 12 Wigeon were on St Ouen's Pond and 30 Ringed Plovers were near the Cutty Sark. A Brambling visited a garden feeder in Beauport once again
Yesterday evening, a Snipe was at Noirmont and a Song Thrush flew over while at Ouaisne were 3 Woodcock and at La Haule were 120 Dunlin and 300 Sanderlings.
