An awful morning with various intensities of rain and southwest winds, dry this afternoon.
In St Ouen's Bay, Black Terns had increased to 4, with 3 in the Sandpits and another over St Ouen's Pond. Also at the Pond were a Common Sandpiper, a Water Rail and 4 Yellow Wagtails and in the Sandpits were a Greenshank, a Redshank, 4 Common Sandpipers and a Great Crested Grebe.
In the early part of this morning, prior to the arrival of the rain, passing Corbiere were 48 Balearic Shearwaters, a Fulmar, 3 Common Scoters, 44 Gannets, 10 Cormorants, 19 Shags, 31 Lesser Black-backed Gulls, 85 Great Black-backed Gulls, 8 Black-headed Gulls, 14 Mediterranean Gulls, 8 Sandwich Terns and 2 Curlews. On the beach in St Ouen's Bay were a further 150 Great Black-backed Gulls and 200 assorted Black-headed and Mediterranean Gulls.
At Petit Port were a Caspian Gull, 3 Lesser Black-backed Gulls, 15 Mediterranean Gulls, 65 Great Black-backed Gulls and 28 Curlews.
Also in St Ouen's Bay this afternoon were 4 Yellow-legged Gulls, 120 Lesser Black-backed Gulls including a Danish ringed bird, 180 Great Black-backed Gulls, a Greenshank, a Redshank, 5 Dunlin and 5 Ringed Plovers including a regular visiting one, colour-ringed In Germany.
