A fair day in a light south-southwest wind.
Following on from yesterday's Red-backed Shrike at Corbiere, a Nightingale was ringed and released at Grouville Marsh this morning. Also present there, were 8 Willow Warblers, 10 Reed Warblers, 8 Blackcaps, 25 Chiffchaffs, 12 Buzzards and a Sparrowhawk
A visit to Les Minquiers saw 350 Sandwich Terns, 65 Turnstones, 70 Shags, a Cormorant, 10+ Willow Warblers and a brief view of a probable hippolais warbler sp.
Seen from a survey boat to the west of St Ouen's Bay, were 5 Storm Petrels, 151 Balearic Shearwaters, 18 Manx Shearwaters, 9 Mediterranean Gulls, 4 Black-headed Gulls, 50 Lesser Black-backed Gulls, 30 Common Dolphins and 6 groups of Tuna. Seen from land, at Corbiere were 13 Balearic Shearwaters, 4 Manx Shearwaters, 4 Common Scoter, 165 Gannets, 2 Fulmars, 15 Cormorants, 19 Shags, 82 Mediterranean Gulls, 23 Black-headed Gulls, 57 Lesser Black-backed Gulls, a Common Tern, a flight of 12 Whimbrels with one Curlew, 2 Ringed Plovers and 6 Swallows. In Petit Port Bay were 6 Mediterranean Gulls, 16 Curlews and a Wheatear.
The first Yellow Wagtail of the Autumn was seen at Beauport, while at Noirmont were 6 Sand Martins, 3 Swallows, a Willow Warbler and a Wheatear.
Today's visitors to St Ouen's Pond Scrape included the Pink-footed Goose, 5 Teal, a Common Sandpiper, 2 Willow Warblers, a Chiffchaff, a Wheatear, 2 Sand Martins, 3 House Martins and 8 Swallows.
