
16.03.2025 Male Red-breasted Merganser passing Corbiere this morning MD
Yet another cold (6c) and mainly overcast day in a fresh east-northeast wind.
A light but steady trickle of seabirds passed Corbiere this morning, including the first Puffin of the year. Seen in four hours were a Red-throated Diver, a Black-throated Diver, 58 Guillemots, 18 Razorbills, 3 Common Scoters, a Red-breasted Merganser, 83 Gannets, 4 Fulmars, 3 Cormorants, 38 Shags, 14 Kittiwakes, a Mediterranean Gull, 12 Lesser Black-backed Gulls, as well as 2 Grey Seals, 2 Peregrines and 2 Linnets. 7 Curlews and 10 Brent Geese were at Petit Port.
On St Ouen's Pond Scrape were 10 Wigeon, 12 Teal and 7 Lapwings, and at St Aubin were 12 Redshanks and 26 pale-bellied Brent Geese.
At La Sente this morning were a Cattle Egret, 8 Little Egrets, 40 Redshanks, 2 Lesser Black-backed Gulls, 7 Pied Wagtails, 5 White Wagtails, 15 Linnets and 2 Ravens.
In Vallee des Vaux today were 2 Bullfinches, 4 Greenfinches, a Blackcap and a Firecrest , with 8 Woodcock over head at Dusk.
