17.11.2025 This is a perfect example of a first winter Caspian Gull , which was a Petit Port yesterday evening RdC It was a busier than expected day over Victoria Tower this morning with the change to north-easterly winds and a drop in temperature. Those conditions brought in a Pallid Swift (only the seventh record for Jersey) and a flock of 11 Barnacle Geese which passed offshore heading south-east, also seen were 2,789 Woodpigeon , 2,563 Starling , 2,226 Redwing , 17 Fieldfare , 11 Song Thrush , 32 Lapwing , 12 Snipe , 106 Chaffinch , a Brambling , 7 Goldfinch , 6 Meadow Pipit , a Mediterranean Gull and 6 Goldcrest . Passing La Coupe in a brief watch were 15 Common Scoter and 11 Little Gull while passing Corbiere were 5 Common Scoter , 10 Brent Geese , 10 Mediterranean Gull , 250 Herring Gull and 1,505 Razorbill . At Rue des Pres were a Redpoll , 8 Siskin , 25 Chiffchaff , 6 Firecrest , 5 Goldcrest , 5 Cetti's Warbler , 6 Water Rail and a Sparrowhawk while at Grouville Marsh were 15 Chiffchaff , 2 Firecrest , 2 Goldcrest , 5 Blackcap , a Reed Bunting , a Snipe , a Teal and 2 Raven . Elsewhere 120 Redwing and 6 Song Thrush were in Vallee des Vaux, 1,000 Woodpigeon , 2 Fieldfare and 6 Skylark were on Mont es Neaux, 3 Teal were on Grands Vaux, a Kingfisher was at Queen's Valley and along Rue de Tapon were 250 Chaffinch and a Brambling . Around St Ouen's Pond were 4 Shelduck , 34 Shoveler , 23 Teal , 9 Lapwing and a Snipe . Seen on Grouville Golf course were 2 Stonechat and 4 Meadow Pipit with 81 Brent Geese on the beach, 2 Teal were at Fauvic and at La Sente were 5 Grey Heron , 4 Little Egret , a Cattle Egret , 14 Redwing , 2 Song Thrush , 2 Chiffchaff and a Moorhen .
