A beautiful and mild day in contrast to yesterday, with a light Easterly wind.
Hawfinches have been appearing in good numbers throughout the British Isles of late and another 5 flew over Victoria Tower this morning, definitely one to look out for. Also seen passing Victoria Tower were 12,864 Woodpigeons, 834 Redwings, 13 Song Thrushes, 608 Starlings, 30 Stock Doves, 244 Chaffinches, 2 Bramblings, 27 Goldfinches, 17 Siskins, 8 Pied Wagtails and 6 Lesser Black-backed Gulls. Passing Noirmont through the morning were 7,420 Woodpigeons, 6 Swallows, 2 Fieldfares, a Ring Ouzel, 15 Redwings, 3 Song Thrushes, 5 Blackbirds, 4 Skylarks, 3 Stock Doves, 216 Starlings, 311 Chaffinches, 38 Linnets, 36 Goldfinches, 4 Pied Wagtails, 23 Meadow Pipits, 4 Lesser Black-backed Gulls, 12 Black-headed Gulls, a Grey Heron, a Peregrine, 2 Ravens, 3 Stonechats, 3 Dartford Warblers and 6 Robins.
In Grouville Bay, near Fort Henry were a Snow Bunting, 5 alba Wagtails, 203 Brent Geese and 98 Black-headed Gulls and at Grouville Marsh were 8 Cattle Egrets and a Swallow. A male Black Redstart was seen at Georgetown.
On St Ouen's Pond Scrape were 6 Chiffchaffs and a possible Yellow-browed Warbler which could not be confirmed, 5 Skylarks, 7 Redwings, 5 Lapwings, a Grey Heron, a Reed Bunting, a few Linnets and a Water Rail. At St Ouen's Pond were 12 Reed Buntings, 18 Shovelers, 2 Chiffchaffs, 4 Stonechats and 4 Water Rails
