It was another overcast start to what became a fine day in a moderate northeast wind.
A slow start to a seawatch at Corbiere this morning, improved later too, and counts included 2 late leaving Great Northern Divers heading high to the northwest, 3 Shelduck, 4 Common Scoters, 14 Manx Shearwaters, 5 Balearic Shearwaters, 4 Guillemots, 4 Fulmars, 22 Gannets, 6 Cormorants, 16 Shags, 2 Kittiwakes, 8 Lesser Black-backed Gulls, 56 Great Black-backed Gulls, 2 House Martins and 4 Swallows, with a Marsh Harrier hunting on the headland and 3 Choughs feeding there.
At Fountain Lane in St Saviour were 2 singing Cetti's Warblers, at Queen's Valley an immature Grey Heron, a Tufted Duck and a singing Firecrest with further singing Firecrests heard in La Rue du Hurel and La Rue du Mont Pellier in Trinity.
2 Buzzards sp flying over Mont Cochon in St Lawrence included a possible Honey Buzzard ( so one to look out for) and 8 Swifts were over Rue des Chasses in St John. 2 Ravens were seen in flight over Victoria Tower too.
A late report for La Rocque on the 31st May included 20 Ringed Plovers and 15 Dunlin.
