A cloudy to fair day in a westerly wind
At Le Pulec ( Stinky Bay) this morning was a family of 5 Shelduck, presumably the birds from La Pulente and also a Common Sandpiper. 9 Curlews were at Petit Port.
Seen from the Wetland Centre at St Ouen's Pond were 6 Swifts, 3 Sand Martins, 2 House Martins, 7 Swallows, 3 Shovelers and 2 Black-headed Gulls. At the back of St Ouen's Pond this afternoon were 6 Stonechats including 4 juveniles, and a Peregrine which took a Linnet
It was another quiet morning at Corbiere with a Common Scoter, a Balearic Shearwater, 2 Fulmars, 21 Gannets, a Mediterranean Gull, 2 Black-headed Gulls, 29 Lesser Black-backed Gulls and 32 Great Black-backed Gulls seen in two hours, also 12 Choughs feeding by the Corbiere Phare, while at Grosnez were 3 Peregrines ( one a juvenile), 7 Ravens, 2 Choughs, a female Marsh Harrier, 2 Buzzards and 30 Linnets seen. c40 locally breeding Lesser Black-backed Gulls at Grosnez included at least 10 fledged juveniles.
At Grands Vaux reservoir were 2 Grey Wagtails and a Swift.
Evening update: At Petit Port this evening were a Caspian Gull and 4 Yellow-legged Gulls - all juveniles, also 16 Lesser Black-backed Gulls, 22 Great Black-backed Gulls, 6 Mediterranean Gulls, 34 Curlews and a Whimbrel.
