A Pied Wagtail
feeding up at La Sente RdC
A cloudy day with a light north westerly wind.
Seen on the high tide at La Rocque this morning were 670 Dunlin which included a colour-flagged bird ringed in the Netherlands, 260 Sanderling, 215 Grey Plover, 55 Turnstone, 200 Oystercatcher and 8 Red-breasted Merganser while at La Sente was a female Shoveler.
14 Cattle Egret were at Boulivot with another 11 near Grouville Marsh and 30 Redwing were at Le Catillon.
Out west the Bittern was seen at the Scrape and the Hoopoe was still in residence near to Jersey Pearl.
2 Grey Wagtail visited a garden in Greve de Lecq.
04.12.2024 A mixed flock of Grey Plover and Dunlin at La Rocque yesterday. Can you spot the Dutch colour-ringed Dunlin ? RdC A sunny but fresh morning then mostly cloudy throughout the day and a light westerly wind.
02.12.2024 Unfortunately there's been no further sightings of the Black-winged Kite , but that doesn't mean we can enjoy these fantastic shots taken by Ray Jones . Another mixed day with sunny spells and showers and a strong north-westerly wind.
01.12.2024 Jersey's second ever Black-winged Kite made a brief appearance at the Scrape this afternoon. Here it is being harassed by a pair of Magpie . Many thanks to Tom Frazer for this brilliant photo. A mild sunny day with the odd shower to start December off nicely.
