A wet morning, clearing to fair this afternoon, in a moderate southeast wind
The Horned Lark / Shore Lark was still present near the Cutty Sark in St Ouen's Bay through today.
Despite, or maybe because of the poor conditions, birds continued to arrive over Noirmont all morning, many dropping in to rest. Through this morning counts there included 13 Ring Ouzels, 104 Song Thrushes, 97 Redwings, 7 Blackbirds, 54 Skylarks, 486 Woodpigeons, 22 Swallows, a House Martin, 132 Meadow Pipits, a Grey Wagtail, 4 alba Wagtails, 48 Starlings, 88 Chaffinches, 2 Linnets, 2 Goldfinches, 8 Cormorants, 6 Lesser Black-backed Gulls and a Mediterranean Gull. On the ground were 6 Stonechats, 5 Robins, 2 Chiffchaffs, a singing Dartford Warbler and a Blackcap.
Elsewhere, 4 Redwings flew over Vallee des Vaux early on, a Grey Heron was at Rozel, 28 Curlews and 6 Little Egrets were near Kempt Tower and 38 Brent Geese plus a Little Egret were at St Aubin.
Yesterday extras include a Great White Egret at La Pulente and another, or the same, in the Sandpits later and a Hobby seen over Grouville Hobby.
Late evening update: At Grouville Marsh were a Yellow-browed Warbler, 15 Chiffchaffs, 8 Blackcaps, a Swallow, a Redwing, 10 Song Thrushes, 2 Stonechats, 20 Robins, 2 Firecrests, a Sparrowhawk, a Kestrel, a Marsh Harrier and 10 Water Rails and on the Scrape this afternoon were 17 Teal, 2 Water Rails, a Cetti's Warbler, a Marsh Harrier and a Sparrowhawk, also 13 Shovelers were on St Ouen's Pond. Numbers of Brent Geese in Grouville Bay had risen to c600
