A fair to cloudy day in light winds.
Seen from a boat off of Gorey this morning were 20 Mediterranean Gulls, 6 Sandwich Terns and a possible Roseate Tern, with images of the latter to be studied.
Early morning at Corbiere saw 5 Balearic Shearwaters, 4 Manx Shearwaters, 6 Common Scoters, 3 Fulmars, 37 Gannets, 2 Mediterranean Gulls, one a juvenile, 5 Black-headed Gulls and 14 Lesser Black-backed Gulls. The family of 5 Shelduck were at La Pulente once again, along with a Grey Heron and 5 Black-headed Gulls
A good selection of species in the Sandpits this morning included a Peregrine, a Buzzard, 28 Tufted Ducks, a male Pochard, 6 Little Grebes, a Green Sandpiper, 2 Common Sandpipers, 7 Oystercatchers, a Grey Heron, 2 Little Egrets, 100+ Coot, 20 + Sand Martins, 18 Black-headed Gulls, a Mediterranean Gull, 8 Stock Doves, a Cetti's Warbler, a family of 4 Stonechats and a White Wagtail.
On the Scrape were 12 unmolested Mallard and with the Shelduck family not seen, maybe they have left the scene - we will see! Also seen were a Green Sandpiper, 3 Lapwings, a Peregrine, a Swift, 20+ Swallows, a Skylark, and a Sedge Warbler, with several Reed Warblers in song around the South Canal. A juvenile Marsh Harrier was in flight over the Pond.
Up at Noirmont were Stonechats with 4 fledged young.
Yesterday, Peregrines were seen at Noirmont and over the Grainville Cricket Pitch.
