A fair to fine and very warm day (27c) in an easterly wind.
At St Ouen's Pond and Scrape this morning were 6 Shovelers, 2 Teal, the displaying Sedge Warbler again, and 4 Cetti's Warblers. The anting season is underway now and over St Ouen's Bay were 100+ Black-headed Gulls and Herring Gulls, with up to 100 Swifts feeding high above them. Yesterday evening, 200+ Gulls were seen feeding over Beauport too. 30+ Curlews were put to flight by a passing Peregrine at L'Etacq.
Early passage off Corbiere this morning included 33 Manx Shearwaters, 7 Balearic Shearwaters, a Fulmar, 36 Gannets, 9 Mediterranean Gulls, 58 Black-headed Gulls and 10 Lesser Black-backed Gulls, also 26 Curlews were roosting at Petit Port.
At Noirmont were 12 Swallows, the 6 strong family of Stonechats, 12+ Chiffchaffs, 2 Dartford Warblers, Short-toed Treecreepers feeding fledged young, 10 Stock Doves and a Greenfinch, and 30+ Swifts were feeding over Elizabeth Castle.
Yesterday evening 3 Ravens and a single Swift were in flight over Vallee des Vaux.
