Another fine but hazy day, feeling warm at 20c in a gusty east-northeast wind
An Osprey was seen over Les Ecrehous this afternoon, only the second one this Autumn. Meanwhile, in the Sandpits were a Spoonbill, 30 Little Grebes, 2 Great Crested Grebes, 4 male Pochard, 15 Tufted Ducks, 12 Grey Herons, 16 Cormorants, a Greenshank, 2 Peregrines and a Buzzard.
Today's counts from Corbiere included 106 Balearic Shearwaters, a Manx Shearwater, 2 dark-bellied Brent Geese, 2 Guillemots, 25 Cormorants, 5 Mediterranean Gulls, 8 Black-headed Gulls, 8 Sandwich Terns, a Yellow-legged Gull, a Lesser Black-backed Gull, a Whimbrel, 28 Curlews, an alba Wagtail, 2 Peregrines and a Buzzard. At Petit Port on the falling tide were 35 Mediterranean Gulls, 5 Turnstones, 25 Curlews ( same birds as above), and a Yellow-legged Gull.
A Spotted Flycatcher was at Mount Bingham and 4 Choughs flew over Greve de Lecq. 2 Choughs were seen yesterday, passing Overdale.
