A fair to fine, but hazy day, warm at 20c in a fresh to strong east-northeast wind.
The troublesome wind continued today. Seen off of Corbiere this morning were 122 Balearic Shearwaters, 3 Guillemots, 22 Gannets, 34 Cormorants, 8 Lesser Black-backed Gulls, 2 Yellow-legged Gulls, 9 Mediterranean Gulls, 4 Black-headed Gulls, 27 Sandwich Terns, 11 Curlews, a Turnstone, 2 Wheatears, 57 Swallows, a Yellow Wagtail, a Grey Wagtail, an alba Wagtail, 2 Peregrines and a Grey Heron. Counts at Petit Port included 230 Oystercatchers, 10 Little Egrets, 13 Turnstones and 3 Mediterranean Gulls.
In St Ouen's Bay, a Redstart and a Wheatear were at Le Port. 5 Grey Herons were on the Scrape, 8 Shovelers and a Wheatear were at the Wetland Centre.
At St Aubin were 5 Redshanks and passing Overdale were hundreds of Swallows, 40 House Martins and a Sand Martin. At West Park were 47 Black-headed Gulls, a Turnstone, 2 Bar-tailed Godwits, a Dunlin and 27 Ringed Plovers.
Around Grouville Marsh were 21 Cattle Egrets and just a few House Martins and Swallows.
Back to yesterday when, at Petit Port, were 3 Caspian Gulls, a Yellow-legged Gull, 6 Great Black-backed Gulls, 2 Lesser Black-backed Gulls, 6 Black-headed Gulls and a Common Gull. In Grouville Marsh were 60 Swallows, 25 House Martins, 15 Chiffchaffs, 34 Jackdaws, 4 Water Rails, 5 Snipe, 3 Marsh Harriers and a Sparrowhawk
