A day of squally showers and fair periods in a fresh westerly wind
Divers featured around the Island to some degree today. Seen in Grouville Bay were 18 Red-throated Divers, a Black-throated Diver and a Great Northern Diver. Seen near St Aubin's Fort were a Black-throated Diver and a Great Northern Diver and passing Corbiere were also singles of Black-throated Diver and Great Northern Diver.
Also in Grouville Bay were 5 Great Crested Grebes while at La Sente were 94 Brent Geese, 24 Grey Herons, 5 Little Egrets, 98 Black-headed Gulls, a Mediterranean Gull, 12 Redshanks, 2 Snipe, 2 Bullfinches and a Cetti's Warbler.
Passing Corbiere this morning were 6 Brent Geese, 22 Razorbills, 6 Guillemots, 16 Gannets, 40 Shags, 11 Cormorants, 42 Kittiwakes, a Common Gull, 16 Mediterranean Gulls and a Curlew. At Petit Port were 43 Curlews, a Turnstone and 18 Brent Geese.
In Beaumont Marsh were a Teal, 2 Shovelers, a Grey Wagtail, 2 Stonechats and a Firecrest while at Sandybrook were a Bullfinch and a Blackcap and at St Aubin, 30 Redshanks and 18 Curlews.
On the Scrape this afternoon were 18 Lapwings, a Water Rail, 5 Snipe, 2 Grey Herons, a Kingfisher and 5 Cormorants.
Reports from elsewhere on the Island included 6 Redwings and a Firecrest at St Clement's Meadow, a Brambling, 350 Chaffinches and a Marsh Harrier at a Mont Cochon conservation field and another Brambling which visited a garden in Beauport again.
