21.03.2024 Short-toed Treecreeper at Pont Marquet MD
A mainly overcast day with some persistent fog shrouding the west of the Island, winds light from the West.
At La Sente through the day were 2 Shelduck, 2 Teal, 250 Brent Geese including a pale-bellied Brent, a Little Ringed Plover, 22 Redshanks, 5 Greenshanks, 51 Cattle Egrets, 8 Black-headed Gulls and 2 Common Gulls.
At a very murky St Ouen's Pond Scrape were 56 Teal, 2 Wigeon flying over, 2 Shoveler, a Barnacle Goose, a White-fronted Goose, a Snipe, 8 Lapwings, a Stonechat and 2 Chiffchaffs. while on the Pond were 17 Shovelers, 7 Tufted Duck and a pair of Stonechat. A Swallow as at Kempt Tower and a pair of Shelduck was at Petit Port.
In Waterworks Valley were at least 3 Short-toed Treecreepers and a drumming Great Spotted Woodpecker.This evening, 3 Siskins, 4 Bullfinches and 3 Chiffchaffs were in Vallee des Vaux.
At Kempt Tower this evening were a singing Willow Warbler, 10 Chiffchaffs, 2 pairs of Little Grebes and a pair of Stonechat
A few extras for yesterday include the White-fronted Goose, the Pink-footed Goose and a Gadwall at the Scrape and c 100 Pied Wagtails at the Marina, just a few of them White Wagtails. 2 Firecrests were in song at Queen's Valley
