A cloudy day with strong, often gale force southerly wind
Seen in a very windy Grouville Bay this morning were 124 Grey Plover, 18 Ringed Plover, 300 Dunlin, 260 Sanderling, 110 Turnstone, 23 Oystercatcher and 19 Curlew.
Sheltering nearby at La Sente were 247 Black-headed Gull, 5 Mediterranean Gull, a Lesser Black-backed Gull, 9 Great Black-backed Gull, a Common Gull, 20 Brent Geese, a Greenshank, 6 Redshank, 11 Grey Heron, 20 Little Egret, 3 Fieldfare, 26 Redwing, 9 Pied Wagtail and 2 Raven while 14 Fieldfare and 200 Carrion Crow were in fields near La Rocque.
At Grouville Marsh were 22 Cattle Egret and 3 Grey Heron with another 4 Cattle Egret near Grouville cemetery and 9 at Fauvic.
Seen from the Wetlands centre were 17 Lapwing, 5 Snipe, 2 Water Rail and 2 Water Pipit, on the Scrape were 22 Lapwing, a Kingfisher, a Water Rail and 40 Starling while in the Sandpits were 19 Great Black-backed Gull and 11 Little Grebe.
Sheltering at Petit Port were 32 Curlew and 18 Great Black-backed Gull and along Rue de Sillon in St Peter were 20 Redwing and 100 Starling.
Yesterday, 4 Black Redstart were seen feeding near the Dicq slipway.
