25.02.2024 A male Marsh Harrier on the prowl at St Ouen's Pond RdC

A day of lots of rain and a strong south easterly wind

Seen at St Ouen's Pond this morning were 17 Wigeon, 2 Shelduck, a Shoveler, 2 Tufted Duck, 2 Pochard, 5 Lapwing, a Water Pipit and a Sparrowhawk.

Out East at La Sente were 600 Brent Geese, 65 Redshank, 5 Greenshank, 2 Shelduck, 18 Curlew, 26 Cattle Egret, 14 Little Egret, 9 Grey Heron, 3 Common Gull and a Raven while up at Le Catillon were 4 Common Gull, 2 Lesser Black-backed Gull, 300 Starling and 150 Chaffinch.

In Vallee des Vaux were a Siskin, 6 Bullfinch, a Redwing, 2 Raven, 9 Woodcock, a Marsh Harrier and a singing Blackbird with a Song Thrush singing in Bagatelle Lane in St Helier.
