28.01.2024 A recent Brent Goose bathing at La Sente RdC

A lovely sunny day with a moderate south easterly wind

Passing Corbiere this morning were 17 Pintail, a Teal, 7 Shoveler, 2 Common Scoter, 25 Red-throated Diver, 2 Great Northern Diver, 5,207 Razorbill, 1,700 Guillemot, 41 Kittiwake, 3 Mediterranean Gull, a Yellow-legged Gull, a Common Gull, 2 Fulmar, 29 Gannet, 21 Purple Sandpiper, 56 Turnstone, 40 Curlew and a Grey Seal.

At St Ouen's Pond were the Bittern, 9 Wigeon, 4 Shoveler, 200 Brent Geese which included 3 Pale-bellied, 2 Shelduck, 100 Lapwing, 7 Snipe and a Mediterranean Gull while at Beaumont Marsh were 430 Brent Geese, 2 Shoveler, a Teal and 12 Snipe.

Over 100 Gannet were feeding over 6 Harbour Porpoises off Plemont as well as a handful of Auks.

At Grouville Marsh were 28 Cattle Egret and 40 Reed Bunting with 3 Stonechat nearby at Grouville Mill and in Vallee des Vaux were 5 Redwing, 7 Siskin, 3 Blackcap, 4 Bullfinch, 6 Woodcock, a Barn Owl and a Pipistrelle Bat.
