Winter was seen out today with mainly fine conditions in light north-east winds.
Passing Grosnez this morning's fine and clear conditions were 4 Red-throated Divers, 5 Razorbills, 65 Gannets, 44 Fulmars, 20 Kittiwakes, 5 Black-headed Gulls, 4 Mediterranean Gulls, 51 Lesser Black-backed Gulls, 181 Herring Gulls, 12 Great Black-backed Gulls, 10 Chaffinches, 5 Goldfinches, 10 Meadow Pipits, 4 Greenfinches and 2 Ravens.
The male and ring-tailed Hen Harriers were at Crabbe once again, a Marsh Harrier, 2 Buzzards, also 10 Linnets, a Dartford Warbler, a Raven and 6 Choughs, but most of the passerines have moved on , with many of the fields now planted and covered with plastic. A flock of 16 Raven was at Sorel and at Jardin d'Olivet were 3 Ravens and 3 Long-tailed Tits.
At St Ouen's Pond were 180 Brent Geese, 15 Wigeon, 2 Shovelers, the Pink-footed Goose and Barnacle Goose, a Snipe, a Grey Heron, a Kingfisher, 2 Little Grebes, a Water Pipit, a Reed Bunting and a Chiffchaff. The Scrape was a little more popular today, than of late, with a Dunlin, 38 Teal, 4 Lapwings and several Starlings present. One Marsh Harrier was skydancing to the north of St Ouen's Pond.
At La Sente were a Pintail, 2 Shelducks, 14 Brent Geese, 71 Redshanks, a Raven and a Stonechat. 6 Cattle Egrets were at Maufant and another 8 were at Le Catillon. In Grouville Marsh were 4 Water Rails, 2 singing Cetti's Warblers and a displaying Marsh Harrier and a pale-phase Buzzard was seen at Pontac.
Around St Aubin were 27 Redshanks, a Turnstone and Little Egret.
