Another day of just more rain!
Good numbers of birds around the south east today, starting at Pontac on the high tide were 324 Grey Plover, 4 Bar-tailed Godwit, 230 Dunlin and 260 Oystercatcher while at La Rocque were 2 Black-necked Grebe, 14 Red-breasted Merganser, a Great Crested Grebe, 2 Black Redstart and 87 Brent Geese, with another 350 Brent Geese in Causie Lane which included a single Pale-bellied.
Arriving at Seymour as the tide went out were 612 Dunlin, 64 Sanderling, 163 Turnstone and 127 Grey Plover while at La Sente were 2 Shelduck, 2 Shoveler, 40 Brent Geese, 5 Greenshank, 35 Redshank, 8 Curlew, 5 Mediterranean Gull, a Common Gull, 3 Lesser Black-backed Gull, 14 Cattle Egret, 8 Grey Heron, a Moorhen and 16 Pied Wagtail.
Up at Le Catillon it was a bit of a Gull-fest, with 86 Common Gull, 33 Mediterranean Gull, 34 Lesser Black-backed Gull, 78 Black-headed Gull and 230 Herring Gull.
Out west at St Ouen's Pond were 15 Wigeon, the White-fronted Goose, 6 Teal, 4 Shoveler, 2 Oystercatcher, 4 Skylark, 100 Linnet and a Stonechat while in the Sandpits were a Pochard, 12 Little Grebe, a Great Crested Grebe, 8 Tufted Duck and 4 Stonechat. The pale Buzzard was again at the bottom of Jubilee hill.
