Another wild day, with mainly overcast conditions, light rain and a gale force Westerly wind.
Passing Corbiere in difficult conditions for both the birds and observers this morning were 43 Balearic Shearwaters, 4 Brent Geese, 3 Guillemots, one auk sp, 22 Gannets, 27 Shags, 11 Cormorants, 33 Lesser Black-backed Gulls, 36 Great Black-backed Gulls, 2 Sandwich Terns, a Mediterranean Gull, 2 Black-headed Gulls and 2 Ravens. On rocks outside Petit Port Bay on the low tide were 180 Great Black-backed Gulls.
In Grouville Bay, mostly seen from Seymour, were 8 Wheatears, 2 Great Crested Grebes, 169 Brent Geese, 24 Ringed Plovers, 36 Curlews, 64 Turnstones, 12 Sanderlings, 4 Bar-tailed Godwits, a Redshank, a Greenshank and a Peregrine. On Grouville Common were 5 Wheatears, 2 Chiffchaffs and 2 Sandwich Terns. 3 Grey Herons were at La Sente.
At St Ouen's Pond were a Grey Heron, a Snipe and 15 Swallows, while in the Sandpits were 60 Swallows, 2 House Martins, 18 Little Grebes, a Greenshank, a Common Sandpiper, a Grey Heron, 25 Cormorants, 5 Pochard, 9 Tufted Ducks, 16 Great Black-backed Gulls, a Mediterranean Gull and 5 Black-headed Gulls and at the bottom of Jubilee Hill were 4 Grey Herons.
In St Aubin's Bay were 62 Brent Geese at Bel Royal and on Mont Felard was a passage of at least 36 House Martins.
At Mount Neron were 40 Swallows and 15 House Martins, and at Grouville Marsh were 20 Swallows and 15 House Martins.
