02.03.2024 A recent Cattle Egret at La Sente RdC
A nice sunny day, at last with a north westerly wind
Seen at Le Catillon this morning were a Yellow-legged Gull, 50 Mediterranean Gull, 46 Common Gull, 65 Black-headed Gull, 9 Lesser Black-backed Gull, 160 Herring Gull and 550 Wood Pigeon which flew over in two flocks heading north-west.
At La Sente were 250 Brent Geese, 2 Shelduck, 2 Shoveler, 11 Cattle Egret, 17 Little Egret, 5 Grey Heron, 11 Redshank, 5 Greenshank, a Marsh Harrier and 3 Redwing while at La Rocque were 3 Red-breasted Merganser, 9 Ringed Plover, 41 Grey Plover, 79 Sanderling and 4 Curlew.
Beaumont Marsh held 300 Brent Geese which included 33 Pale-bellied, 3 Shoveler, a Mediterranean Gull, 46 Black-headed Gull, a Lesser Black-backed Gull, a Snipe, a Curlew, 30 Meadow Pipit, 10 Pied Wagtail, a Firecrest and a Short-toed Treecreeper while at St Aubins were 35 Redshank and 28 Pale-bellied Brent Geese.
At the Scrape were 300 Brent Geese and 10 Teal.
Over St Catherine's woods were 4 Buzzard including one Pale and a Sparrowhawk and 2 Chough were seen high over St Saviours Road.
