04.04.2024 A Lapwing having a good flap at the Scrape recently RdC
A rather grey overcast day with a south westerly wind
Seen at the Scrape this afternoon were the ringtail Hen Harrier, 10 Marsh Harrier, 55 Lapwing, 15 Wigeon, 2 Snipe and a Peregrine which was seen to take one of the Lapwings while not to far away, at Petit Port were 5 Purple Sandpiper, 17 Curlew, 13 Grey Plover and a Dunlin .
At Beaumont Marsh were 420 Brent Geese, 2 Shoveler, 5 Snipe, 2 Little Egret and a Firecrest, another 100 Brent Geese were on Ruelle es Ruaux and in St Aubin's Bay were 22 Oystercatcher, 3 Curlew and 35 Redshank in the Harbour.
In Vallee des Vaux were 6 Siskin, 6 Bullfinch, 2 Blackcap, a Chiffchaff, 3 Goldcrest, a Firecrest, 25 Redwing, a Great Spotted Woodpecker drumming and a good variety of species were singing away, spring must be on its way.
