A nice sunny spring like day with a light south easterly wind
The perfect day for the first Wheatear or Swallow to arrive, but neither did so maybe tomorrow.
Seen at La Sente were 4 Teal, 2 Shoveler, 2 Coot, 2 Moorhen, 6 Cattle Egret, 3 Little Egret and a Grey Heron.
Up at Noirmont were a Black Redstart and a Stonechat while on the Blanches Banques were 2 Skylark and 2 Stonechat and a Firecrest was at Petit Port.
At Beaumont Marsh were 250 Brent Geese, 8 Snipe, a Curlew, 6 Shoveler, 2 Little Egret and 4 Pied Wagtail and at St Aubins were 43 Pale-bellied Brent Geese and 31 Redshank.
St Ouen's Pond held 9 Wigeon, 7 Shoveler, 3 Pochard and a Stonechat and on Ouaisne Common were 5 Chiffchaff which included a 'Sooty-nosed' individual and a Woodcock.
Elsewhere 3 Brent Geese and 22 Lesser Black-backed Gull were in the Town Harbour, 9 Cattle Egret and a pale Buzzard were near St Saviours Hospital, 10 Tufted Duck and a Siskin were at Grands Vaux, 80 Chaffinch, 28 Redwing and 4 Song Thrush were along Talavera lane and the mild weather encouraged a couple of Butterflies to venture out with a Small Tortoiseshell Butterfly near Queen's Valley and a Peacock at Carrefour Selous.
