A very windy day with gusts of up to 75mph!
Sheltering from the wind at La Rocque this morning were 725 Dunlin which included Polish and Dutch colour-ringed birds, 290 Sanderling, 211 Grey Plover, 16 Ringed Plover, 64 Turnstone and 49 Redshank while nearby at La Sente were a Greenshank, 31 Redshank, 375 Black-headed Gull, 5 Mediterranean Gull, 2 Common Gull, a Cattle Egret, 30 Little Egret, 8 Grey Heron, 2 Marsh Harrier and 20 Redwing.
7 Cattle Egret were feeding around the cows along Route des Cotils in Grouville and at Grands Vaux were 20 Redwing, a Firecrest and a Grey Wagtail.
In Vallee des Vaux this evening were 5 Woodcock, 15 Redwing, 2 Bullfinch and a Firecrest.
Yesterday the male Hen Harrier and a Bittern were seen at the Scrape and in the afternoon at Grouville Marsh were 5 Teal, a Shoveler, 4 Woodcock, 12 Water Rail, 2 Firecrest, a Chiffchaff, 20 Reed Bunting, 60 Redwing, 15 Song Thrush, 122 Jackdaw, 70 Carrion Crow and a Marsh Harrier while in an orchard on Mont es Neaux were a Fieldfare and 30 Redwing.
