15.02.2024 A handsome male Marsh Harrier at St Ouen's Pond, brilliantly captured by Tom Frazer
A mostly sunny day with the odd shower and a south easterly wind.
Seen at La Sente this morning were 2 Shoveler, 31 Cattle Egret, 45 Little Egret, 24 Grey Heron, 39 Redshank, 4 Greenshank and 93 Black-headed Gull. 2 Shelduck were in Causie lane and at La Rocque were a Black-necked Grebe, 8 Red-breasted Merganser, 100 Turnstone, 60 Dunlin and 100 Oystercatcher.
A short sea watch at Corbiere produced 50 Razorbill, a Guillemot, 50 Gannet, 5 Kittiwake, 5 Mediterranean Gull, 10 Ringed Plover, 23 Dunlin and a pod of 30 Common Dolphin while at Petit Port were 135 Oystercatcher, 44 Curlew, 19 Turnstone and 4 Little Egret.
Seen around St Ouen's Pond were 17 Wigeon, 11 Shoveler, 7 Teal, 3 Pochard, 14 Lapwing, the Hen Harrier, 3 Reed Bunting, 2 Cetti's Warbler and a Chiffchaff and in the Sandpits were 2 Little Grebe.
At Beaumont Marsh were 100 Brent Geese, 6 Shoveler, a Teal and a Curlew.
A Water Rail was in Beauport car park, a Song Thrush was singing at Les Creux and a Greenfinch was in song at Gorselands.
A Black Redstart was seen in Roseville Street.
