A dry and cooler-feeling day with high cloud and a fresh westerly wind
The Shore Lark spent another day near the Cutty Sark, with 2 alba Wagtails, 5 Meadow Pipits and 3 Rock Pipits also feeding in the area. Seen from the GaP hide at the Sandpits were 26 Little Grebes, a Great Crested Grebe, 6 Grey Herons, 11 Cormorants, 13 Tufted Ducks, 6 Pochard and a female Marsh Harrier. At the Scrape this morning were 4 Reed Buntings and a Grey Heron. In Les Ormes Valley were 2 Dartford Warblers, 3 Firecrests, a Goldcrest, 3 Chiffchaffs, 2 Jays and 7 Long-tailed Tits
It was a slow day at Noirmont after a few lively ones. Counts there this morning included a Swallow, 10 Redwings, 2 Song Thrushes, 4 Blackbirds, 35 Meadow Pipits, 3 alba Wagtails, 24 Chaffinches, 71 Linnets, 17 Goldfinches, 2 Greenfinches, 3 large but unidentified finch sp ( possibly Crossbills ), 370 Woodpigeons, 12 Stonechats, 7 Robins, a Chiffchaff, 4 Dartford Warblers, 130 Crows, 2 Ravens and 3 Jackdaws, with a Balearic Shearwater, 8 Gannets, a Lesser Black-backed Gull and a Ringed Plover passing offshore. A single Wheatear was seen at Les Landes.
At La Sente were 25 Grey Herons, 2 Pied Wagtails and 50 Linnets, with another Grey Heron seen at Fauvic Marsh. In Queen's Valley were a Grey Herons, 3 Jays, 3 Cormorants, 122 Herring Gulls, 27 Tufted Ducks, 2 Kingfishers and 2 Grey Wagtails. Around Grouville Marsh were 2 Cattle Egrets, 2 Siskins and 4 Water Rails.
2 Swallows were at Le Catillon this evening along with 27 alba Wagtails.
