A fine day in a cold southeast, becoming southerly wind (7c)
Around St Ouen's Bay and Scrape this morning were 28 Shovelers, 32 Teal, 18 Wigeon, 4 Gadwall, 4 Snipe, a Water Pipit, 96 Lapwings, a Mediterranean Gull, a Stonechat, 40 Linnets and a Peregrine and at Kempt Tower pools were a pair of Little Grebe displaying, 11 Shovelers and 4 Tufted Duck.
Passing Corbiere through the morning were 12 Red-throated Divers, 3 Common Scoters, 2 Brent Geese, 1,930 Razorbills, 20 Guillemots, 113 Gannets, 2 Fulmars, 156 Kittiwakes, 7 Common Gulls, 44 Mediterranean Gulls, 4 Turnstones and a Pied Wagtail and at Petit Port were 47 Curlews and 5 Little Egrets. Feeding outside St Ouen's Bay were several pods of dolphins which included at least 50 Common Dolphins and 3 Bottle nosed Dolphins. La Coupe was fairly lifeless with just one Guillemot and 2 Gannets seen late morning.
At Beaumont Marsh were 128 Brent Geese two of which were pale-bellied Brent, 7 Shovelers and 4 Snipe and in St Brelade's Bay were 11 Brent Geese and 2 Great Crested Grebes. At Rue des Hetres in St Peter were 120 Lapwings and the first 50 Golden Plovers of the season.
At a frozen La Sente were 2 Lapwings, 18 Grey Herons, 42 Little Egrets and a Redshank. In Grouville Bay, as viewed from Seymour, were 275 Sanderlings, 7 Ringed Plovers, 8 Dunlin, a Peregrine and a Black Redstart. In Samares Lane were 200 Linnets.
