A fine day with occasional high cloud, feeling cold at 5c in a southerly wind.
A fair selection of birds seen at St Ouen's Pond and Scrape this morning included a Bittern on a rare excursion from cover, A White-fronted Goose, a Pink-footed Goose, 290 Brent Geese, 22 Wigeon, 13 Teal 4 Gadwall, 10 Shoveler, 70+ Lapwings, 4 Snipe, 70 Linnets and a Water Pipit.
Seawatching at Corbiere was brief due to the cold conditions and relative lack of action, but included 482 Razorbills, 10 Guillemots, 45 Gannets, 2 Fulmars, 54 Kittiwakes, 10 Mediterranean Gulls and a Lesser Black-backed Gull, while at Petit Port later morning were a Red-breasted Merganser, 6 Brent Geese, 38 Curlews, 8 Grey Plovers, 3 Dunlin, a Purple Sandpiper, and 7 Little Egrets.
At Beaumont Marsh were 165 Brent Geese and in Rue des Hetres, St Peter were 12 Lapwings and a Golden Plover. A Great Northern Diver was in St Helier Harbour again.
Elsewhere, 4 Teal were near Victoria Village, 50 Pied Wagtails were at Chateau Clarevale and 65 Goldfinches were in Rue du Pont in Trinity.
