A wild day with heavy showers and a gusty gale force wind from the west-northwest.
Lots of birds were in evidence on the sheltered side of the Island. Seen from La Rocque were 2 Black-throated Divers, 6 Great Northern Divers, 2 Great Crested Grebes, 16 Red-breasted Mergansers, 635 Dunlin, 360 Sanderlings, 285 Grey Plovers, 6 Ringed Plovers, 144 Turnstones, a Common Gull, 500 Black-headed Gulls, a Kingfisher and a Peregrine. At La Sente were 28 Grey Herons, 14 Little Egrets, 230 Brent Geese, a Lapwing, 3 Greenshanks, 7 Redshanks, 15 Common Gulls, a Mediterranean Gull, a Lesser Black-backed Gull and 2 Great Black-backed Gulls. 2 Buzzards were at Les Maltieres, feeding on worms and 2 Song Thrushes were on Grouville Common and a Great Northern Diver, 3 Great Crested Grebes and a Common Gull were at Gorey At Grouville Marsh this afternoon were 18 Cattle Egrets.
Seen from a stormy Corbiere were 24 Brent Geese, 2 Red-breasted Mergansers, 38 Razorbills, 29 Guillemots, 3 Fulmars, 15 Gannets, 61 Shags, 9 Cormorants, 4 Kittiwakes and 66 Great Black-backed Gulls. 16 Brent Geese were at Petit Port. Another 35 Brent Geese were on Les Mielles Golf Course in St Ouen's Bay. Ont Ouen's Pond Scrape were 29 Lapwings and 2 Cormorants.
In Vallee des Vaux were a Blackcap, a Goldcrest, 3 Bullfinches, 2 Redwings, a Grey Wagtail, 3 Ravens and 3 Woodcock.
