A day of blustery showers in a fresh to strong northwest wind, feeling cold at 10c.
La Sente continues to provide good viewing and seen there today were 320 Brent Geese, 2 Shelduck, 2 Teal, 33 Cattle Egrets, 36 Little Egrets, 4 Black-headed Gulls, a Common Gull, a Little Ringed Plover, 5 Greenshanks, 25 Redshanks and a Grey Heron. In Grouville Bay were 8 Wheatears, 2 White Wagtails and 4 Pied Wagtails and at La Rocque were 23 Grey Plovers
Seen from Corbiere during the first three hours of daylight were 7 Manx Shearwaters, 18 Fulmars, 42 Razorbills, 33 Guillemots, 19 Gannets, 3 Kittiwakes, a Mediterranean Gull, 2 Common Gulls, 4 Lesser Black-backed Gulls, 2 Peregrines, a Swallow and 4 Meadow Pipits. In Petit Port Bay were 21 Brent Geese, 3 Shelduck and a Curlew. Further Brent Geese were seen at Beaumont where 170 were present, which included c100 pale-bellied Brent, with another 4 pale-bellied being seen at Bel Croute.
At a very windy St Ouen's Pond were a Water Pipit in Summer plumage, a Stonechat, 14 Shoveler, a male Pintail, 4 Tufted Duck and 2 Oystercatchers. while at the Scrape was the Pink-footed Goose, the Barnacle Goose, 5 Sand Martins and a White Wagtail, but no Teal were seen. Around Kempt Tower pools were 4 Tufted Duck, 2 Little Grebes singing, 10+ Chiffchaffs and overhead, a Marsh Harrier in display flight.
At Plemont were 22 Fulmars, a Raven and a Kestrel
