Another cloudy day and feeling cold again in a strong southwest wind.
At La Rocque on the high tide, early this morning, were a Black-necked Grebe, 28 Red-breasted Mergansers, 4 Brent Geese, a Common Gull, 2 Black-headed Gulls, 58 Grey Plovers, 11 Sanderlings, 2 Turnstones and a Peregrine, while in Grouville Bay were a Great Northern Diver, a Black-necked Grebe, 2 Great Crested Grebes, 585 Brent Geese, 7 Common Scoters, 2 Bar-tailed Godwits, 7 Curlews, 14 Sanderlings, 3 Sandwich Terns and a Lesser Black-backed Gull.
In the wet field at La Sente this morning were 51 Brent Geese, a pair of Shelduck, a Little Ringed Plover, 13 Redshanks, 5 Greenshanks, 2 Grey Herons, 32 Cattle Egrets, 20 Little Egrets, 2 Common Gulls, 10 Black-headed Gulls and 6 Pied Wagtails. On Queen's Valley reservoir were 4 Tufted Duck, 2 Teal, 6 Lesser Black-backed Gulls and a Grey Wagtail. On Grouville Common were 10 Cirl Buntings including 7 singing males, 11 Linnets, including one already nest building, 7 Greenfinches and a pair of Long-tailed Tits.
On the Scrape at St Ouen's Pond were 32 Teal, 2 Wigeon, 6 Lapwings and a Willow Warbler. On St Ouen's Pond were 24 Shovelers, 8 Tufted Duck and 2 Wheatears, and a Swallow was seen at Le Braye. A Wheatear and 3 Brent Geese were at the Elizabeth Marina in St Helier. At Corbiere radio tower were a Peregrine, a Wheatear, 2 Shelduck, a Kestrel and 2 Lesser Black-backed Gulls. A group of 5 Buzzards was over Westmount this afternoon and 7 Redshanks were at St Aubin
