A dry morning with high cloud, becoming wet this afternoon. Winds were in the southeast.
It was a busy morning at Corbiere as birds took advantage of the good conditions and through the morning, sightings included at least 570 Manx Shearwaters, often feeding in large flocks, 9 Common Scoters, 3 Brent Geese, 74 Guillemots, 9 Razorbills, 3 Fulmars, 38 Gannets, 6 Cormorants, 2 very early Roseate Terns, 2 Common Terns, 10 Sandwich Terns, 25 Kittiwakes, a Mediterranean Gull, a Common Gull, 13 Lesser Black-backed Gulls, 6 Curlews, 5 Swallows, 4 Sand Martins, a Pied Wagtail, 3 Meadow Pipits, 3 Goldfinches, 4 Linnets, a distant Skylark, an arriving Kestrel and 74 Crows, most arriving from the West.
On St Ouen's Pond and Scrape this morning were a White-fronted Goose, a Pink-footed Goose, a pair of Shelduck, 27 Teal, 33 Shovelers, 8 Tufted Duck, 3 Snipe, 8 Lapwings, 2 Lesser Black-backed Gulls, a Swallow, 18 Sand Martins, 2 Skylarks, and at Sands, a Ringed Plover.
At La Sente were 40 Brent Geese, 2 Shelduck, 5 Black-headed Gulls, a Grey Heron, 38 Little Egrets, a Cattle Egret, a Greenshank and a Swallow.
Seen this morning at Ouaisne were 2 Redwings, a Swallow, 25 Chiffchaffs, a Blackcap, 2 Bullfinches, 2 Little Grebes, 4 Little Egrets, a Kestrel and 70 Crows. In Beaumont Marsh were 30 dark-bellied Brent Geese, 111 pale-bellied Brent, a Pied Wagtail a Little Egret, 30 Siskins, 2 Firecrests and a Short-toed Treecreeper. 100 Linnets were at Talavera Lane.
Another Swallow was at Sorel Point as well as 8 Meadow Pipits, 7 Goldfinches, a Kestrel, a Sparrowhawk and 2 pairs of Lesser Black-backed Gulls on their breeding sites. Seen at Grosnez were a Peregrine, 6 Guillemots, 4 Lesser Black-backed Gulls, a tern sp and a Grey Seal.
